The next morning it did the same thing but with different gibberish this time. It worked again! I put the battery back in and set the time before going to sleep. I then removed the battery and touched a paper clip to both terminals (which is how my dad fixed my calculator) then plugged it back in. I unplugged the alarm clock and waited a few seconds before plugging it back in. It displayed a bunch of gibberish on the screen and the LEDs above the display were on (not flashing as usual). that is before around 10:00pm on new years eve.
